Welcome to Full Spectrum Doulas

Full Spectrum Doulas is a growing collective of doulas and reproductive justice advocates who are working throughout the Pacific Northwest to bring the doula model of care to people across the full spectrum of pregnancy experiences, including abortion, adoption, surrogacy, miscarriage and stillbirth. Full Spectrum Doulas also plays a key role in national advocacy efforts to support grassroots full spectrum doula organizations across the country and to raise awareness about full spectrum doulas as a valuable support source for pregnant people. Full Spectrum Doulas strive to foster a culture that trusts people and their inherent strength to make the best reproductive decisions for themselves. We believe that all individuals deserve access to supportive services along the full spectrum of pregnancy experiences and outcomes. We invite you to explore our website for more information about volunteering with our organization, becoming a collaborative clinic, or receiving services from Full Spectrum Doulas.

Triggers and Risks
This workshop involves many in-depth discussions of triggering topics including abortion, pregnancy loss, historical trauma, sexual violence, racism, medical abuse, death, and more. This training is also long: two full 8-hour days with limited breaks. We will have support staff available for debriefs and emergency support, but in general we cannot significantly alter this content. Please consider your own health and capacity for these discussions when signing up.
While there are no foreseen risks, during this workshop we will be discussing criminalized methods of abortion, including out-of-clinic abortion. Please understand that there could be unforeseen risks to having these discussions in the current political climate. Please evaluate your own ability to accept these risks when signing up.

Who should attend?
There is a doula in every person! No previous experience with doula work or abortion is required to attend this training. This training is appropriate for anyone with an interest and passion for providing nonjudgmental, compassionate abortion support.
